Guy Cormier is the newest Executive Committee member starting in January 2019. Mr. Cormier is the designee for St. Martin Parish. He is the Asst. Director of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
Before joining the Police Jury Association staff, Cormier served as an elected official in St. Martin Parish Government, where he served as a councilman for 4 years and a Parish President for 14 years.
Throughout his tenure in local government service, his accomplishments included administering more than $35 million of roadwork, renovating and restoring the parish's antebellum courthouse, building a new
facility for the Clerk of Court, Registrar of Voters and the Assessor, building a new state of the art facility of the Council on Aging and renovating many of the parish's public parks. He was also instrumental in passing a
bond issue that will provide for more than $28 million in drainage and recreation improvements in St. Martin Parish. He also served 6 terms as an Executive Board Member and was named President of the Police Jury
Association in 2016.
Cormier has always been active in his community and his parish. He was named 2003 Business Leader of the Year by the St. Martinville Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the St. Martinville Chamber of Commerce,
Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce, Civilian Club, St. Mary Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club of St. Martinville. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Acadiana Planning Commission, Vice Chairman of the Acadiana Area
Metropolitan Planning Organization. He has also served as a Board of Director for the St. Martin Council on Aging, United Way of Acadiana and Ducks Unlimited. He is currently serving as a member of the St. Martin Hospital Board
of Directors and the Louisiana Groundwater Resources Commission
